.30 calibre is the most versatile diameter in the Fox range and the one that covers the widest spread of cartridges — everything from the .308 Winchester through the .30-06 to the .300 magnums. Three weights are stocked: 130, 150 and 165 grain.

The 130 grain is a genuinely light bullet for the calibre and it behaves like one: very high velocity, very flat inside normal woodland ranges. Its BC of 0.259 is the lowest in the Fox range, so it bleeds speed faster at distance — but at the ranges most woodland stalking actually happens, that hardly matters.
The 150 grain is the .308 Winchester weight, the one that will handle every UK deer species without argument. If you buy one box of .30 calibre Fox bullets, buy this one.
The 165 grain is the heaviest in the entire range. It has the best BC of the three at 0.359 and retains the most weight on impact, which is what you want on mature red and sika or when the shot might be quartering through heavy shoulder.

What is the best Fox weight for a .308 Winchester?
The 150 grain. It is the classic .308 weight, works on every UK deer species, and is the easiest of the three to develop a load around.
Is 130gr too light for deer in .308?
No. Monolithic bullets retain far more of their weight than lead-core bullets, so a 130 grain copper-zinc bullet penetrates more like a heavier lead bullet. It is a deliberate design choice for fast, flat woodland shooting.
Can I use these in a .30-06 or .300 Win Mag?
Yes — all three weights use the standard .308 inch diameter and load into any .30 calibre cartridge. The heavier 165 grain particularly suits the larger cases.
What twist rate do .30 calibre Fox bullets need?
The standard 1:10 or 1:12 twist found on most .308 and .30-06 rifles handles all three weights, as none exceeds 34.6mm.
